The History of Smiths Detection

Smiths is one of three operating divisions of Smiths Group, a global technology company, listed on the London Stock Exchange that serves the detection, healthcare and specialty engineering markets, making the world safer, healthier and more productive. Smiths Group employs 21,000 people and has facilities in 50 countries. 

Since 1997, Smiths Detection has brought together global technology leaders in many key markets, creating a world leading business. In 2003 it became a separate operating division of Smiths Group.
